Thomas Thompson's research program focuses on understanding and quantifying processes responsible for nitrogen transformations and losses in irrigated agricultural systems and desert grassland soils. He also is actively involved in developing management tools for efficient use of water and nutrients in irrigated desert agriculture, and developing reclamation strategies for mine tailings.
