Kurtis Thome works in support of NASA's EOS project for postlaunch radiometric calibration and atmospheric correction. He is developing radiative transfer algorithms for remote sensing applications to model the scattering of light in the Earth's atmosphere. He is also working to improve ground-based methods for determining atmospheric constituents, primarily using solar radiometers to determine atmospheric water vapor, aerosols, and ozone.
