A limited number of teaching assistantships are available to students in the GC PhD Minor program on a competitive basis. In addition, the Institute for the Study of Planet Earth (ISPE) offers fellowships and awards specifically for GC minors, as well as other opportunities for all graduate students. The GC Minor program offers teaching assistantships (typically quarter time) for the NATS 101 Introduction to Global Change course.
ISPE offers fellowships of up to $5,000 for new students in the GC Minor PhD program. New UA PhD students are eligible and recipients must be nominated by their home department.
ISPE will be offering small awards (up to $1,000) to students in the GC Minor program to aid in the improvement of their dissertation.
ISPE provides up to $500 in funding for graduate students to travel to meetings, conferences, or symposia where they will present their research. Deadlines are typically in September and February.

The Herbert E. Carter Travel Award will be available for students majoring in a Graduate Interdisciplinary Program (GIDP) for travel to a professional meeting.
The Graduate College, in conjunction with the Graduate and Professional Student Council provides travel funds to graduate students to present invited papers or posters at professional meetings, conferences and symposia that are directly related to their educational development.
